Need affordable senior apartments with meals and housekeeping services?
You may qualify for government-aided programs.
Trent Center Senior Living Community has provided senior living and programs for over 40 years. Trent Center West is a Section 236 building with 246 apartments. These include one- and two-bedroom apartments. Approximately half of the apartments have government-aided subsidies to help residents pay rent.
Trent Center West operates a Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP) which provides meals, housekeeping, personal assistance and case management. CHSP services are based on a sliding scale fee according to income. Call or contact us to find out more about CHSP services.
To qualify for a senior living apartment, you must be at least 55 years of age and meet income guidelines. To see if you may qualify for an apartment, please call or contact us to find out about eligibility guidelines.
Low income seniors in Mercer, Burlington and Hunterdon Counties, NJ and Bucks County, PA can call or submit a request for more information on the cost of services they wish to receive.
What do we provide for our senior residents?
- Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP): This program provides housekeeping services, meals, personal assistance and case management. Participants are able to pick and choose which services are best for their situation. Fees are income-based on a sliding scale. This is a valuable service which enables residents to remain in their community.
- Personal assistance can include: daily contact to assure safety, companionship, help with dressing (buttoning, lace up shoes), making a light meal, taking out garbage or recycling, picking up mail, shopping in our convenience store and reminders to take prescribed medication. Personal assistance does NOT include: assistance with feeding, personal hygiene and toileting services, dispensing medications or shopping outside the building.
- Housekeeping can include: laundry service, sweeping or mopping floors, changing sheets, cleaning dishes after meals, cleaning tubs, sinks and toilets and dusting.
- Meals can include: Lunch and box dinner are available. Lunch is served in our community dining area. Boxed dinners can be picked up or delivered to the apartment. All meals are approved by a certified dietician. See our current menus here.
- Case Management is provided to ensure residents are referred to services they need.
- In-house transportation: Transportation is available to all residents for medical appointments, shopping , recreation programs and bank errands within 7 miles of Trent Center Senior Living Community. A nominal fee is paid at the time of advanced reservation. The bus runs from 8:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

- Social Service Coordinator: In place since 1995, this program provides a social service worker who links Trent Center residents to variety of services available in the surrounding community. The social service worker is available to assist with personal, financial, medical, social and transportation concerns as needed. This enables Trent Center residents to continue to live in the community. Call or submit a request to see if you qualify for our programs.
- Access to extended local services: We do our best to give our residents access to all the services they require. This includes referrals to home health aide agencies, hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, contact reassurance (daily safety checks), adult day programs, food stamps, meals sites and interfaith caregivers.
- Planned recreation: Our residents are encouraged to invite their families to join them for special occasion celebrations, like Mother’s Day Brunch, Father’s Day Ice Cream Social and End of Summer Picnic. In addition, trips are scheduled for restaurants, casinos, shopping, museums, and concerts.
- In-house Activities: Trent Center provides activities like bingo, card games, and a Wii game console for the residents to enjoy. Suggestions for other activities are always welcome.
With a focus on promoting aging in place, services are provided to prevent placement in a long-term care facility.
